goooooooodmorning, friends! it’s 6pm in Siem Reap, Cambodia as I write this blog, which means it’s around 5am for you, lovely reader. get comfy, put on a good song, and have a cup of coffee with me! (or hot chocolate if you’re my momma. hey, momma! i’m so happy you’re here!)

whew. it’s been a minute… and our squad has been meeting our Lord in some wild ways. thanks, God!

i thought a photo tour could be a good way to dive right in to update you on some life basics!

but before anything else, here’s my BEAUTIFUL Gap K family!

they clean up pretty nice, don’t they?!

after the racers arrived in Gainesville in August, we spent a month on the AIM campus. we dove into the word, sat in on some beautiful teachings together, learned what it looks like to say yes as a family to one another, and opened our hands each day to what the Lord is leading us to. and of course, lived in our tents and worshipped a lot. He’s the Most Worthy.

now that you’ve met the squad, i NEED you to meet the team i have all the joy of leading ~

say hi to Team Shalom!!!!

these women continue to blow my mind in everything they are. these are women who crave to be close to Him, women who desire peace and unity, women who seek to find beauty in everywhere they are. i am wildly thankful for everything they are and everything they continue to hope for. I see Jesus in them on the daily basis and am so honored to be able to walk these 9 months with them.

these women are some haaaaaaard workers. we had the opportunity of going to Black Mountain, North Carolina for 2 weeks before launching to partner with Excel College. Excel is a discipleship based college who dives DEEP into their town and community with the goal of bringing the Love of Christ anywhere and everywhere. from helping at the community garden to construction work, we had a packed 2 weeks of pouring into the community of Black Mountain. it was such a gift!

after 2 weeks of beautiful fall colors and chilly weather, we came back to Gainesville to prepare to fly to Cambodia. our squad celebrated the Hebrew fest of Sukkot, also known as the feast of tabernacles. an evening of praise, gratitude and celebration for what the Lord has done and continues to do. it was a beautiful feast overflowing with laughter and awe of His presence!

thus began the process of packing our lives up into our backpacks and saying our goodbye’s to the states. it took us 5 days to happily and healthily arrive to our ministry site in Cambodia: we flew from Atlanta to Phoenix for a quick layover, then Phoenix to San Francisco for the day. from san francisco we flew 13 hours to Taiwan, then after a few hours in Taiwan we jumped on a flight to Phnom Penh, Cambodia. after 2 days of exploring the city, we took a 6 hour bus ride to Siem Reap. Team Shalom is staying at the Adventures base in Siem Reap, and we are here with our friend Sreymom!

Sreymom works with Vikki and Shannon Bob, AIM’s long term missionaries based here in Cambodia.  Sreymom is our go to gal for the best places around town, like restaurants! Sreymom took Ashley and I to a delicious Korean BBQ place last night!

Team Shalom has the pleasure of partnering with Hope International School here in Siem Reap! I’ll be sharing more of what our life with Hope School looks like later this week, but not on this blogging site!

AIM is switching some things around in regard to the blogging platforms, and I want to make sure you have the right link in order to follow along with what the Father’s up to over here in Cambodia!

once you click this link, just create a Missional Life profile and you’ll be in the loop for when I’m sharing stories of His goodness.

I am so excited for all of what our Father’s doing in the hearts of this squad and the people they are meeting. please keep us in your prayers as we continue to submit our hearts to Him!

For now, I hope you have a BEAUTIFUL Sunday overflowing with His love for you! I’m sending love and hugs your way; be sure to subscribe to my new blog!

I LOVE YOU! thank you for being apart of my life!

xoxo,

Bernadette
